Ikeda, Osaka, is the birthplace of instant ramen. In 1958, Momofuku Ando, the inventor and founder of Nissin Foods, created the world’s first instant ramen in a small research hut in his backyard. To share the history of instant ramen and the importance of invention and discovery, the Cup Noodles Museum Osaka Ikeda was established in 1999. Inside, you can learn about the origins and evolution of instant noodles, as well as create your own custom Cup Noodles at the My Cup Noodles Factory (no reservation required, fee applies). You can decorate the cup, select your favorite ingredients, and take home your unique creation. The museum also offers a Chicken Ramen Factory experience (reservation required, fee applies), where visitors can make Chicken Ramen from scratch.
*When the “My CUPNOODLES Factory” is crowded, visitors may be required to wait. In addition, admission may close early when there are a large number of visitors wishing to enter this attraction.
