5.Yasaka Koshindo Temple

Located in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, this small temple is officially called “Daikokusan Kongoji Koshindo.” The temple is popular for not only protecting worshippers from illness and other disasters, but also providing blessings for grades and commercial prosperity. Colorful balls representing Kukurizaru (monkeys with bound feet and hands) are hung all around the temple grounds. It is said that if you write down your wish and offer it to the Kukurizaru, no matter what your wish is, it will be granted.
