GRAND GREEN OSAKA is Osaka’s newest all in one destination, directly connected to JR Osaka Station and built around a large urban park.
The first time I visited, it felt like discovering a side of the city I hadn’t seen before. Here, shopping, food, greenery, and even accommodation are woven together into one relaxed space.
It feels like a place locals treat as part of everyday life – strolling through the park, meeting friends, grabbing coffee, and just being.
It’s the kind of place where you can slow down and soak in Osaka at your own pace.

1. Time Out Market Osaka: Eat Your Way Through Osaka and Beyond
One of the main highlights of GRAND GREEN OSAKA is Time Out Market Osaka, the first Time Out Market in Asia.
What makes this food market special is its balance. You will find Osaka favorites like takoyaki and okonomiyaki alongside premium wagyu dishes, creative desserts, and a wide selection of international cuisine inspired by global flavors. It is not just about Japanese food. It is a place where local and international dining come together in one beautifully designed space.
I liked how easy it was to explore. Whether you’re craving something familiar or want to try something new, you can mix and match dishes without committing to just one restaurant. It’s perfect if you’re traveling with others or simply want variety without the stress of planning multiple meals.

Shop Recommendations at GRAND GREEN OSAKA
Shopping at GRAND GREEN OSAKA leans more toward quality and thoughtful design rather than mass tourism. Many of the shops focus on craftsmanship and items you’ll actually use long after your trip.
Here are my personal shop recommendations and why they stood out.
2. SOMÈS SADDLE: Made-in-Japan Leather Craftsmanship
SOMÈS SADDLE is a Japanese leather brand that started in Hokkaido and is known for its roots in traditional saddle making.
The leather bags, wallets, and accessories here are beautifully made and very timeless. The designs are simple but refined, and everything feels built to last. If you appreciate high quality leather and quiet design, this shop is worth spending time in.

3. SUSgallery: Japanese Titanium for Everyday Use
SUSgallery specializes in bowls and tumblers made from Japanese titanium.
These pieces are designed to keep hot food warm and cold drinks cold, while still looking elegant. The colors are subtle and modern, and each item feels more like functional art than regular tableware. This is a great choice if you want a souvenir that fits naturally into daily life.

4. Editorial: Small, Quirky, and Uniquely Japanese
Editorial is a fun shop filled with creative items made in Japan.
You will find keychains made from used kimonos, Japanese food themed hair clips, colorful pouches, and even scents customized to your birthday. It is the kind of place where you end up picking up small items that feel personal and memorable.

5. Nike Umeda: Personal Touches and Osaka Exclusives
This Nike store is one of the few places in Japan where you can customize your shoes and apparel. Some of the design options are exclusive to Osaka, which makes the experience feel more personal.
Customization does take time and the store can get busy, so planning ahead is important. I liked that it felt less like shopping and more like creating something connected to my time in Osaka.

6. MUJI: Everyday Japanese Lifestyle Essentials
MUJI is located in GRAND FRONT OSAKA which is connected to the GRAND GREEN OSAKA area via a walkway, making it easy to add to your shopping route.
This is a great place to find Japanese lifestyle goods, travel items, stationery, and snacks. Even if you have visited MUJI outside Japan, shopping here feels different with more variety and Japan exclusive items.
It is also one of the only MUJI shops in Japan where you can enjoy coffee made from beans roasted right on site, with a MUJI Coffee counter that also sells freshly roasted beans, which most MUJI stores do not offer.

7. Umekita Park: A Green Space in the Middle of the City
At the center of GRAND GREEN OSAKA is Umekita Park, a large green space surrounded by modern buildings.
This was one of my favorite parts of the visit. I saw locals sitting on the grass, chatting with friends, and even enjoying small picnics. It did not feel like a tourist spot at all.
I ordered a coffee to go and sat here for a while, taking in the greenery and the city views. Before leaving Osaka, this was where I slowed down the most and simply enjoyed the moment.

8. Where to Stay: Hotel Hankyu GRAN RESPIRE OSAKA
For a smooth and comfortable stay, I highly recommend Hotel Hankyu GRAN RESPIRE OSAKA.
The hotel is located within the GRAND GREEN OSAKA area and is directly connected to Osaka Station, which makes getting around incredibly easy. The design feels modern but calming, with natural tones that help you relax after a long day.
The hotel is designed around the concept of a “Natural State,” focusing on comfort, calm, and balance, which is something you really feel after a full day of exploring the city.
Breakfast is served at MAISON VERTE, the hotel’s restaurant, and it was one of the highlights of my stay. The buffet offers a thoughtful mix of Japanese and Western dishes, including Osaka inspired bites alongside fresh vegetables, seasonal items, warm dishes, bread, pastries, and fruit. Everything felt well balanced and not overwhelming, which made it easy to enjoy a slow and relaxed morning.
One thing I really enjoyed was having breakfast while watching the trains pass by. It was surprisingly calming and felt very Osaka. Just a small tip, it is easy to linger, so if you have plans for the day, start early.
If you want convenience without sacrificing comfort, this is an excellent choice.
