There are two tourist information centers in Umeda, Osaka.
As the name suggests, the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA is a tourist information center located in Umeda, the center of Osaka. It is the first place you should go when you visit Osaka on vacation.
This is because, as a certified foreign tourist information center in Japan, it provides various services for overseas tourists, including tourist information on Osaka, Kyoto, and Kobe, exchange and sale of Hankyu Tourist Pass and Hanshin Tourist Pass, discount ticket sales, temporary luggage storage service (charged), and Wi-Fi rental, which are very useful for sightseeing.

There is another “Osaka Tourist Information Center” in Umeda, Osaka. Although tourist information and other services are also available at this office, purchase of the Hankyu Tourist Pass or Hanshin Tourist Pass and exchange of the pre-purchased Hankyu Tourist Pass or Hanshin Tourist Pass for an actual tickets can only be made at the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA in Umeda. Please be careful not to make a mistake.
Travel from Kansai International Airport to Umeda, Osaka
First, travel to Osaka Umeda by public transportation such as train, airport limousine bus, or cab. The trip takes about 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the mode of transportation.
Incidentally, it is recommended to take a comfortable airport limousine bus from Kansai International Airport to Osaka Umeda!

Directions to Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA from various locations in Umeda, Osaka
(1) From the airport limousine bus stop
The airport limousine bus has two stops in Osaka-Umeda. The one closest to the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA is the Hotel New Hankyu stop.
The Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA is a short walk from the Hotel New Hankyu stop.
After getting off the bus, cross the pedestrian crossing in front of you, and when you come to Tully’s Coffee, there will be a sign to turn right.
Follow the signs to the right, and when you emerge into a busy passageway, you will see a sign overhead that reads “Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA”.
The Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA is right in front of the building, but please note that the entrance is on the brick corridor side.
(2)From Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line
When you go to “Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA” from Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro Midosuji Line, the most important thing to note is the exit of the ticket gate.
It is convenient to use the “North ticket gate” closest to the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA.
However, after exiting the North ticket gate, there are no signs to the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA, so it is easy to get lost, so please refer to the picture below.
First, go out the north ticket gate and turn right. After walking for a while, you will see Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation on your left. The green color is a landmark.
You will then come to an intersection that will be a fork in the road.
This is the point where it is easy to make a mistake!
Many people flow toward the Hankyu train on the left, but take the escalator on the right to go up to the ground floor.
Do not miss this escalator.
Once on the ground floor, the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA is just a short walk away. Please enter through the entrance on the brick aisle side.
(3)From JR Osaka Station
If you are going from JR Osaka Station, use the “Midosuji Exit” ticket gate.
Go out the ticket gate and turn right, and you will see a pedestrian bridge and a pedestrian crossing on your left.
After crossing this pedestrian crossing, go straight ahead and you will come to a wide concourse in front of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store.

(4)From Higashi-Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line or Nishi-Umeda Station on the Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line
Both station gates are located underground. The underground shopping center in Umeda, Osaka is famous for its complexity, so it is a good idea to look carefully at the information signs as you proceed, but the sign for “Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA” does not appear until you get somewhat closer to the “Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA”.
The ticket gates to be used are as follows
Osaka Metro Tanimachi Line, Higashi Umeda Station → Northeast and Northwest ticket gates
Osaka Metro Yotsubashi Line, Nishi-Umeda Station → North ticket gate
After exiting the ticket gate, proceed toward “Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store” (or “Hankyu Train”) on the underground information sign to the underground entrance of the Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store.
It is in front of the entrance on the basement floor of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store.
Next to the entrance, you will see six escalators and stairs going up from the basement floor to the ground level. Please take the escalators or elevators to the ground level.
After going up the escalator, you will see a sign for Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA.
Once on the ground, please go straight through the wide concourse. The Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA is just around the corner! From this area, you should have no trouble finding your way to the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA because of the information signs.
Incidentally, the show window decorations of the Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store are often the talk of the town for their spectacular themed decorations. The Christmas and New Year’s seasons are particularly noteworthy.
(5)From the concourse in front of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store
In the wide concourse in front of Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store, there is an intersection lined with digital signage advertisements.
Near the center of the forked road are plant decorations and benches. Proceed to the passage to the left of it.
Continue here and you will arrive at the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA on the left!
How to get to the Hankyu Railway Station from the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA
After running errands at Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA, many people will use the special pass to head to the tourist spots as soon as possible.
The Hankyu Osaka-umeda Station ticket gates are right outside. Take the escalator in front of the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA to the third floor.
How to get to the Hanshin Electric Railway Station from the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA
The Hanshin Electric Railway is in the opposite direction of Hankyu Osaka-Umeda Station. Return to the entrance side of the Hankyu Tourist Center, OSAKA-UMEDA and proceed through the brick street to the concourse in front of the Hankyu Department Store Umeda Main Store.
You will see six escalators in a row.
There is a signboard on the Hanshin Electric Railway, so follow the arrow and go down the escalator.
After exiting the escalator, turn right.
After that, follow the signs and walk a little further to reach the Hanshin Electric Railway ticket gate.
The peak hours of the "Hankyu Tourist Center Osaka-Umeda"
Here’s some information to be aware of regarding the peak hours before visiting the Hankyu Tourist Center Osaka-Umeda.
The Hankyu Tourist Center Osaka-Umeda is typically crowded from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
We recommend avoiding these hours. For those who can exchange their Tourist Pass before the usage date, we suggest visiting in the afternoon of the day before the intended use.
Please note that the validity period after exchanging the Tourist Pass is as follows.
*Regardless of the exchange date, you can use the Tourist Pass on any day during the validity period stated on the pass.
Pass exchange between January 1 and March 31: Valid for one day until April 30 of the same year.
Pass exchange between April 1 and December 31: Valid for one day until April 30 of the following year.
(Example) If exchanged on February 1, 2024: Valid for one day until April 30, 2024.
If exchanged on May 1, 2024: Valid for one day until April 30, 2025.
