A new city park, “Umekita Park,” has opened, spanning around 45,000 square meters and is one of the world’s largest city parks directly connected to a terminal station.
In the bustling city of Osaka’s Umeda area, known for its towering skyscrapers, there’s never been a park of this size where people can gather and relax.
The opening of Umekita Park is a game-changer for locals who frequent Umeda and quickly became a hot topic on social media.

The lush Umekita Park features a distinctive, curved landscape design and includes a lawn plaza, colorful garden, event space, and Café. Among its highlights is a symbolic 120-meter-long canopy designed by the renowned architectural unit SANAA, creating a striking visual landmark for the park.

The grand opening of Grand Green Osaka South Building is set for March 21, 2025.
This new space will feature various modern facilities inlcluding Hotel Hankyu GRAN RESPIRE OSAKA. It will also have Kansai’s largest urban spa with natural hot springs and an infinity pool. 55 shops and restaurants will be set up here, along with a large-scale food market called Time Out Market OSAKA to experience food culture in Japan.
