A specialty of Nagata, Kobe, is “soba-yaki.” Sobayaki is the name for the yakisoba called in Nagata, and this restaurant’s specialty is “Beef Soup Bokkake Sobayaki”. “Roushouki” was established in 1915 and has been loved for over 100 years. People are always lining up to get their hands on the famous “pork buns.”
Pork buns were originally called “Tianjin Paozi” in the Tianjin region of China, but the founder changed the name and flavor to something more familiar to Japanese people and began selling them. The steamed buns are freshly made and served hot. The small pork buns are filled with juices, so be sure to eat them without letting them spill out!

Gyoza is a common food in Japanese households. It is now so ingrained in daily life that frozen gyoza vending machines are now available. Hyotan, which has a history of over 50 years in Kobe, features a red miso-based sauce with ground meat!

Kobe is known throughout Japan as a city that eats a lot of bread, and Isuzu Bakery, founded in 1946, is always a fun bakery to visit, with 180 to 190 varieties of bread available daily.

The Kuma Pochi House, a café attached to a hotel run by Konigs-Krone, a confectionary store born in Kobe, is a popular place where people line up even before the store opens.
The reason for this is the hearty lunch! This is a very satisfying set that includes a main dish, bread baked in the restaurant, salad, all-you-can-eat drink, and one mini dessert. In addition to a wide variety of breads, the first 50 customers to arrive will receive a “Krone,” Konigs-Krone’s signature pastry with custard cream in a crispy dough.
